A documentary film about the indexing and information systems center was screened as part of the third specialized international conference

The activities of the Third International Specialized Conference on Information and Libraries included a documentary film about the Indexing and Information Systems Center, which is part of the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.

The conference is organized by the Indexing and Information Systems Center and the Al-Fadl Center for the Maintenance and Preservation of Heritage, both affiliated with the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, in collaboration with Al-Ameed University, and in scientific partnership with the College of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Baghdad, in addition to the Information and Knowledge Technology Departments at Al-Mustansiriya University, the University of Basra, and the University of Mosul, under the slogan "Knowledge Leadership: Leading the Future," from October 13 to 15, 2026.

The documentary reviewed the key milestones in the establishment of the center, its most significant achievements and services in the field of technology and indexing, its pioneering role in supporting Iraqi libraries, as well as its adaptation to modern digital developments in information systems and knowledge management.

The film highlighted the efforts made by the center in developing library and cataloging work, and employing modern technologies in organizing and providing access to information sources, which contributes to facilitating access to knowledge and enhancing the utilization of library and heritage collections.

The conference aims to discuss scientific and technological developments in the fields of information and libraries, exchange research expertise among specialists, as well as explore the prospects of developing knowledge management and preserving heritage in light of digital transformations.
