Conclusion of the Third Annual General Conference at Al-Ameed University
Al-Ameed University has concluded the third edition of its annual general conference, held under the auspices of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine and spanning two days.
The closing proceedings were attended by Mr. Laith Al-Mousawi, a member of the Holy Shrine’s Board of Directors; Dr. Jawdat Nouri Al-Jashami, the University President; as well as college deans and faculty members.
The first day of the conference featured an address by Dr. Abbas Al-Dada Al-Mousawi, Head of the Education and Higher Education Commission at the Holy Shrine. He emphasized that the university's commitment to holding this conference at the start of each year—establishing it as a standard practice and administrative approach—reflects an institutional culture grounded in a unified vision and shared priorities. It views administration as a collaborative project and a collective commitment.
He explained that the conference enables the university and its staff to review achievements and unmet goals, analyze strengths and weaknesses, address shortcomings, and derive lessons to be translated into concrete plans and decisions. Furthermore, it allows for comparing planned objectives with actual accomplishments, evaluating the work done, and honoring high achievers.
Al-Dada noted that this approach exemplifies institutional accountability and reflects a transparent management style that values communication, staff involvement in decision-making, the delegation of authority, and role clarity. This fosters a sense among employees that their voices are heard and their opinions valued by the university administration, thereby strengthening their institutional loyalty and boosting their motivation. The events included a scholarly lecture delivered by the University President, Dr. Jawdat Nouri Al-Jashami. The lecture addressed the university's aspirations regarding curricula and teaching methods—viewed through the lens of global trends and influences—as well as professional ethics (particularly in the medical field) and the incorporation of teaching methods derived from the *Hawza* (traditional religious seminary) educational model.
The lecture emphasized the importance of drawing upon the educational experiences and authentic pedagogical heritage of the *Hawza*, noting that certain modern teaching methods have arrived at practices that the *Hawza* implemented centuries ago.
The second day’s activities featured a film showcasing the progress made in implementing recommendations from the conference's second edition. This was followed by a dialogue session between the university’s board of directors and its staff, aimed at evaluating administrative processes, discussing proposals and challenges, and identifying solutions through direct dialogue.
The events concluded with the honoring of professors who contributed to their colleges achieving programmatic accreditation, as well as those who achieved high scores in assessment examinations and demonstrated excellence in the educational process.
Al-Ameed University remains committed to following up on the outcomes of its annual conference, translating its recommendations and proposals into practical steps that contribute to the advancement of its academic and administrative operations.
