Following the directives of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai, the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine dispatched a medical delegation from the Safeer Al-Imam Hussain Surgical Hospital to the Al-Shabaka subdistrict, located about (70) kilometers from the Iraqi-Saudi border deep within the western desert of Najaf Al-Ashraf Governorate, to provide medical and therapeutic services to the residents of the subdistrict and surrounding villages.

The Administrative Director of the hospital, Engineer Abbas Abdul Ali, stated in an interview with the "Official Website" that "the delegation includes (12) doctors across (9) medical specialties, alongside nursing and supporting staff, in addition to providing the necessary medicines, as well as medical and laboratory supplies required to examine and treat patients."

He explained that "this initiative comes in implementation of the directives of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, aimed at assessing the health conditions in remote areas and enhancing the medical services provided to their residents—especially since Al-Shabaka subdistrict and its surrounding villages, which have a population of about (1,600) residents, suffer from limited healthcare services and difficulty of access due to rugged roads and long distances."

He added that the medical team examined and treated the residents, identified a number of cases requiring surgical operations at the Safeer Al-Imam Hussain Surgical Hospital, and noted that several doctors headed directly to the homes of patients unable to reach the medical center to inspect medical and emergency cases and provide them with the necessary care.

It is worth noting that the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, under the directives of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, is keen on delivering health services to various regions of Iraq without discrimination between areas close to or far from its medical institutions, in alignment with the approach of the Supreme Religious Authority in caring for citizens and providing humanitarian and health services to them.
