The Umm Abiha School for Religious Studies, affiliated with the Al-Kafeel Division of Women's Religious Schools in the Office of the Senior Official for Women's Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, welcomed its students for the new academic year in the holy city of Najaf.
The school principal, Ms. Asma Al-Tamimi, said that the number of registered female students for the current academic year reached 110, most of whom are university graduates enrolled in the first stage, in addition to the preparatory stage students, which saw an influx of those wishing to join the study.
She added that the first day of the academic year included an introduction to the school's instructions, regulations, and internal system, as well as the distribution of students to their classes. She explained that the duration of the study is six years, and the school accepts students aged 16 to 45, after the applicants undergo a test that includes jurisprudential and doctrinal questions, and based on the results, acceptance is determined.
Al-Tamimi explained that the school is working on preparing female preachers with a solid religious culture, training pilgrimage guides, and preparing teaching staff, noting the continuous development of educational staff's capabilities through specialized courses and teaching methods courses.
She explained that the curriculum includes a number of Hawza and cultural subjects, such as logic, principles, jurisprudence, biography, and the Damascene Luminous, in addition to etiquette. The classes are held four days a week, from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
She pointed out that the school provides a number of services for female students, including a monthly stipend, free transportation, and childcare, which contribute to creating an educational environment that helps students continue their studies.
The Al-Kafeel Women's Religious Schools are considered one of the educational projects that have extended their presence to several Iraqi provinces, aiming to provide specialized opportunities for women's religious education and to prepare female staff capable of performing their roles in the fields of preaching, culture, and education.
