The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine holds a Quranic gathering marking the birth anniversary of Imam al-Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him)

The General Secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine held a Quranic gathering to mark the birth anniversary of Imam al-Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him).

The event took place in the courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), attended by officials from the Holy Shrine and a crowd of visitors who had gathered to commemorate this blessed occasion.

The gathering began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by an address from the Holy Shrine’s General Secretariat, delivered by Sheikh Adel al-Wakeel, Deputy Head of the Religious Affairs Department. He extended congratulations to the attendees and the Islamic nation on the auspicious birth anniversary of Imam al-Askari (peace be upon him), highlighting key aspects of the Imam's noble life, his virtues, and his role in consolidating Islamic values.

Al-Wakeel noted that Imam al-Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him) grew up in the House of Prophethood, nurtured by the legacy of the Imamate and the divine message. He assumed the responsibilities of the Imamate amidst difficult political circumstances, yet stood as an exemplary figure of knowledge, worship, struggle, and reform, cementing his scholarly and spiritual stature among both the elite and the general public.

He explained that the Imam (peace be upon him) faced restrictions and persecution by the Abbasid authorities; nevertheless, he persisted in his mission to defend the Sharia, guide the people, and combat religious innovations. He also dedicated himself to caring for and guiding his companions and students, while preserving the path of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and their mission-oriented values.

He pointed out that the life of Imam al-Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him) represented a continuation of the Ahl al-Bayt school of thought regarding knowledge, worship, and reform, and paved the way for the era following his martyrdom. He emphasized the importance of drawing inspiration from the Imam's stances and values—specifically his steadfastness in principles and his service to the faith and society.

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine is committed to commemorating the occasions of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) by organizing various cultural activities, with the aim of deepening religious awareness and instilling authentic Islamic values across all segments of society.
