The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine held the activities of the first day of the central graduation ceremony for female students in Iraqi universities and some Islamic countries, (the eleventh batch of the Al-Kafeel Girls) in the Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) complex.
The ceremony is held by the Al-Kafeel Women’s Religious Schools Division, affiliated with the Office of the Senior Official for Women’s Affairs at the Holy Shrine, under the slogan (From the light of Fatima - peace be upon her - we illuminate the world), with the participation of 6,450 female students from various governorates of Iraq and some Islamic countries.
The activities began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, by the reader Zainab Kadhem from the Lady Fatima bint Asad (peace be upon her) Qur’anic Studies Department, followed by the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah as a tribute to the souls of the martyrs, then the chanting of the national anthem and the anthem of the Holy Shrine (Melody of Pride), followed by a speech from the head of the Al-Kafeel Women’s Religious Schools Division, Ms. Bushra Al-Kinani.
In her speech, Al-Kinani addressed the importance of coupling educational attainment with commitment to Islamic values, stressing that the hijab does not constitute an obstacle to women’s advancement and professional success, and that female graduates bear the responsibility after their graduation to employ their specializations in the service of society.
She called on the graduates to adhere to three pillars in their future journey: useful knowledge, insightful awareness, morals and concealment, stressing the importance of preserving Islamic identity and continuing to seek knowledge.
The activities witnessed the recital of a poem entitled (The Homeland is Islam, Faith and Honour), presented by the poet Itidal Darwish from the Sultanate of Oman. The program also included a theatrical performance entitled (Free by Choice), which dealt with the topic of decency and choice, and presented its messages through theatrical work.
The ceremony also witnessed the holding of the “Al-Kafeel Ambassadors” section, which took the form of a dialogue session with representatives of the Saudi and Omani delegations, to introduce the experience of the Al-Kafeel Girls’ Party and discuss the possibility of transferring it to their countries, and discuss mechanisms for benefiting from it in establishing similar initiatives.
