The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine launched the activities of the ceremony honoring the students of the Ghirass program for literacy and teaching reading and writing.

The Women's Religious Guidance Division, affiliated with the Office of the Senior Official for Women's Affairs at the Holy Shrine in the Sheikh Al-Kulayni Complex, is organizing the ceremony under the slogan "A Woman Learns...". A society that progresses), as part of the Badr Educational Centers project.

The events were attended by the Deputy Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine, Mr. Muhammad Ali Azhar, and a member of its Board of Directors, Dr. Abbas Al-Dadah Al-Moussawi, along with several academic and official figures.

The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the reader Ammar Al-Hilli, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs' souls, and then the chanting of the anthem of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine (Melody of Pride). This was followed by a speech from the Holy Shrine, delivered by its board member Dr. Abbas Al-Dadah Al-Moussawi, who emphasized that "the adult education project at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine is rooted in the essence of Islam and reflects its core. Since the esteemed scholar Sayed Ahmad Al-Safi outlined the educational project and defined the Holy Shrine's educational vision, one of its pillars has been that education is a right that should not be denied to any human being."

He added, "The building of a person begins with reading, and the first act of building is the act of reading. Not because it changes the face of history, enriches life, and creates civilization, but because it is the first step in knowing God Almighty. Therefore, the act of 'Read' is followed by a significant phrase, 'Read in the name of your Lord.' Thus, the path of knowledge must be connected to God Almighty."

He explained that "the adult literacy project, which was initiated by the Women's Religious Guidance Division, including the 'We Learn to Live' program launched in 2017 in the Education and Teaching Department, with a curriculum specifically designed to teach the members of the holy shrine who lack the opportunity to read and write, taking into account their psychological and educational characteristics. It then extended to the local community and recorded pages of light in adult education, just as we receive beautiful outcomes from the division's project in reducing illiteracy and promoting community education."

The head of the Women's Religious Guidance Division, Ms. Adra Al-Shami, stated that the division organized a special ceremony to honor the literacy program students within the (Gharas) program, as part of the Al-Badr Educational Centers project, with the support and follow-up of the Seniior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, His Eminence Sayed Ahmad Al-Safi.

The events included a speech by the participants in the program, delivered by Ms. Badr Ali, who emphasized that the opening and continuation of these lessons had a profound impact on the participants' hearts. She explained that the program provided them with an opportunity that life circumstances might have prevented them from obtaining in previous years, and she assured them that learning is a right that can begin at any stage of life.

The ceremony included the screening of two short films titled "From Letters to Light" and "Journey of Hope for a Better Future," which addressed the journey of the program's learners and how learning to read and write has been a significant step in their lives, accompanied by determination and challenges in acquiring knowledge. Additionally, a poem was presented that expressed the value of knowledge and its impact on human life, by the poet Mohammed Al-Yasiri.

The program concludes with the distribution of results to the participants, honoring them for their efforts and perseverance, and encouraging them to continue on the path of knowledge and learning, contributing to the building of a more aware generation and enhancing the role of women in creating an educated and advanced society.
