The delegations participating in the opening of the Al-Qasab Family Rest Area, affiliated with the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in Karbala Governorate, toured its facilities.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine,; Sayed Mustafa Murtada Aal Dia-Uddin, his deputy, Mr. Mohammad Ali Azhar, and a number of other officials and prominent figures. The rest area is located on the Najaf-Karbala road, covering an area of ​​63 dunams (approximately 2.5 acres) opposite pillar 1040.

The rest area includes various recreational facilities, such as 14 fountains reaching heights of up to 30 meters, more than 200 public seating areas for families, a horse riding arena, a mosque, a restaurant, a shopping center, a large artificial lake for fishing, and designated barbecue areas.

The rest area includes a bird garden, offering families the opportunity to enjoy nature, two children's play areas, a train, scooters, electric bikes, bicycles, family boats, and other recreational facilities.

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine is committed to creating a recreational environment that meets the needs of Iraqi families. This initiative also represents a step towards combating desertification and supporting the environment by increasing green spaces and planting trees to create a natural environment that contributes to improving the climate. The rest area currently features 36 dunams of green space out of a total area of ​​63 dunams.
