The Intellectual Affairs Department completes its preparations for holding the third specialized international conference on information and libraries

The Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has completed its preparations to hold the third specialized international conference on information and libraries.

The conference is organized by the Center for Indexing and Information Systems, and the Al-Fadl Center for Preservation and Conservation of Heritage, affiliated with the Library and Manuscript House of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, in collaboration with Al-Ameed University, and in scientific partnership with the College of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Baghdad, in addition to the Departments of Information and Knowledge Technologies at Al-Mustansiriya University, the University of Basra, and the University of Mosul, under the slogan "Pioneering Knowledge: Leading the Future," from October 13 to 15, 2026.

The Director of the Indexing and Information Systems Center, Mr. Hassanein Al-Moussawi, stated that "the preparations included forming specialized committees to oversee the organizational, scientific, media, and service aspects of the conference, ensuring the requirements are met and the events are held in a manner befitting the status of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, with the participation of a select group of specialists, researchers, and experts from inside and outside Iraq."

He added that "the conference will witness the presentation of solid scientific research and studies, in addition to holding specialized workshops and discussion sessions aimed at exchanging experiences and discussing contemporary challenges, and enhancing cooperation between institutions concerned with information and libraries, which contributes to the development of scientific and academic work in this field."

The conference aims to discuss scientific and technological developments in the fields of information and libraries, exchange research expertise among specialists, as well as explore the prospects of developing knowledge management and preserving heritage in light of digital transformations.
