The Lady Fatima bint Asad branch concludes the activities of the first national Quranic competition, "The Glad Tidings of Mercy Have Shone Forth.”

The Lady Fatima bint Asad (peace be upon her) Division for Quranic Studies, affiliated with the Office of the Senior Official of Women's Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, concluded its first national Quranic competition, "The Glad Tidings of Mercy Have Shone Forth."

The closing ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Sayed Mustafa Murtadha Aal Dia-Uddin, Board Member Dr. Abbas Al-Dada Al-Mousawi, and the Head of the Holy Shrine's Scientific Center for the Holy Quran, Dr. Mushtaq Al-Ali, along with a number of other prominent figures and those interested in Quranic affairs.

The ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech from the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine delivered by Board Member Dr. Abbas Al-Dada Al-Mousawi. In his speech, he addressed the importance of caring for the Book of God Almighty, encouraging women to memorize and reflect upon it, and the role of Quranic competitions in nurturing women's talents and promoting Quranic culture.

The ceremony included a film showcasing the stages and milestones of the "Ashraqat Bashair Al-Rahma" (The Glad Tidings of Mercy Have Shone) competition, followed by a performance of a religious chant by the Sana Al-Huda Quranic chanting group affiliated with the division. The program also featured recitations and poems celebrating the birth of the Prophet Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and his holy Household).

The ceremony included presentations by two female Quran memorizers, Radhia Aboud Abbas and Rabia Yassin Awda, who shared their journeys in memorizing the Holy Quran. A poem was also recited by the poet Mohammad Al-Yasiri.

The event concluded with the honoring of the top 15 winners across the five memorization categories, as well as several participants who did not qualify for the final round. The judging panels and the organizing committee were also recognized for their efforts and participation in the competition.

The competition was held in its first edition with the participation of female memorizers from various Iraqi governorates, and its competitions included five categories in memorizing the Holy Quran, within the division’s program aimed at sponsoring female memorizers of the Holy Quran, and providing a competitive space to develop the level of memorization and performance.
