The Secretary-General of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine conducts a tour to review the final preparations for the opening of the Al-Qasab rest area for families

The Secretary-General of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Sayed Mustafa Murtada Aal Dia-Uddin, conducted a field visit to the Al-Qasab Family Rest Area to inspect the final preparations, rehabilitation, and outfitting works ahead of its opening.

The visit was attended by the Deputy Secretary-General, Mohammed Ali Azhar; member of the Holy Shrine’s Board of Directors, Kadhim Abada; and several heads of relevant departments. They reviewed the work completed thus far and assessed the technical and service-related requirements necessary to finalize the facility’s amenities.

The Secretary-General emphasized the need to intensify efforts, accelerate the pace of work, and complete all remaining requirements as soon as possible, ensuring that the rest area is fully prepared for its opening and ready to welcome families.

The Al-Qasab Family Rest Area is located south of the Holy Governorate of Karbala, along the road connecting the governorates of Karbala and Najaf. Spanning a total area of ​​63 dunams, the site features 163 public seating areas, an artificial fishing lake, a horse-riding arena, a mosque, a restaurant, a comprehensive marketplace, gardens for flowers and birds, and recreational facilities for children and families. The project aims to provide a family-friendly leisure environment while contributing to the expansion of green spaces and the combat against desertification.
