The General Supervisor of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine Hospitals, Dr. Sabah Al-Musawi, received the Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Iraq, Dr. Jameela Al-Raiby, during her visit to Sayyida Khadija Al-Kubra Specialized Hospital for Women, in the presence of the Director General of the Public Health Department at the Ministry of Health, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation in the field of primary healthcare.

In a statement to the official website, General Supervisor Dr. Sabah Al-Musawi said: "Today, we received the WHO Representative in Iraq, Dr. Jameela Al-Raiby, during her visit to Sayyida Khadija Al-Kubra Specialized Hospital for Women, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, in the presence of the Director General of the Public Health Department at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Riad Abdel Amir Al-Halfi, and a team from the Public Health Department at the Karbala Health Directorate."

He explained that "the visit included discussing ways to enhance joint cooperation in the field of primary healthcare and following up on the implementation of cooperation programs between the Ministry of Health, WHO, and the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, thereby contributing to the development of health services provided to citizens."

He added that "the two sides discussed an initiative led by Sayyida Khadija Al-Kubra Specialized Hospital for Women, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and WHO, aimed at supporting the provision of comprehensive, high-quality health services and strengthening preventive interventions specifically for woman, child, and community health."

He further noted that "the visit also included University of Al-Subtain for Medical Sciences, where the status of implementing the primary healthcare program was reviewed, and mechanisms to enhance integration between health and educational institutions were discussed, along with supporting the exchange of expertise, training, and improving the quality of health services."

On her part, WHO Representative Dr. Jameela Al-Raiby said: "We commend the integration of preventive and therapeutic services provided for women and children in one place," emphasizing that "this model aligns with WHO's aspirations."

She explained that "we hope the experience of Sayyida Khadija Al-Kubra Specialized Hospital for Women, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, will serve as a model for other hospitals and a successful story that can be shared at the regional level."

This visit comes within the framework of joint cooperation between the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, the Ministry of Health, and WHO to implement primary healthcare programs and elevate the standard of health services.
