Under the auspices of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.. The launch of the third annual general conference of Al-Ameed University
Al-Ameed University, under the auspices of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, launched the activities of the third edition of the annual general conference.
The events were attended by a member of the Board of Directors of the Holy Shrine, Dr. Afdhal Al-Shami, the head of the Education and Higher Education Authority, Dr. Abbas Al-Dadah Al-Moussawi, the president of Al-Ameed University, Dr. Jawdat Nouri Al-Jashami, the deans of the colleges, and the university faculty members, and they will continue for two days.
The first day's activities of the conference began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in memory of the souls of Iraq's martyrs. Then, Dr. Abbas Al-Dadah Al-Mousawi delivered a speech in which he emphasized that the university's commitment to holding this conference at the beginning of each year and its transformation into a custom and methodology in academic administration reflects an institutional culture based on unifying vision and priorities, and viewing administration as a joint project and collective commitment.
He explained that the conference allows the university and its staff to review what has been achieved and what has not, analyze strengths and weaknesses, address shortcomings, extract lessons and turn them into plans and decisions, as well as compare what was planned with what was accomplished, evaluate the achievements, and honor those who contributed to the accomplishments.
Al-Dadah pointed out that this approach represents a form of institutional accountability and reflects a transparent administration that believes in communication and involving staff in decision-making, distributing powers, and clarifying roles, making employees feel that they have a voice and that their opinions are valued by the university administration, which enhances their institutional loyalty and increases their motivation.
The university president, Dr. Jawdat Nouri Al-Jashami, said: "The university's holding of its third annual general conference aims to bring together all university members, including professors, staff, employees, university leaders, deans of colleges, heads of departments and scientific branches, and their assistants."
He added that "the conference aims to listen to the opinions, suggestions, and problems of the university members in general, and to involve them in the administrative process, as management is not limited to the university council or the deans of the colleges, but is participatory with all members. Through these opinions and suggestions, we build projects and decisions that are discussed in the university council and studied to make the appropriate decision."
Al-Jashami explained that "in this third edition of the conference, we discuss and present what was raised last year, what has been addressed, and we review what has been accomplished from the recommendations of the previous conference. We aim through this conference to achieve more recommendations and proposals."
The first day's activities of the conference included a scientific lecture that addressed the ambitions the university envisions in the field of curricula and teaching methods, in light of global influences and trends, as well as professional ethics, particularly in medical professions, and drawing inspiration from the experiences of the religious seminary in teaching methods.
The lecture focused on the importance of drawing inspiration from the educational experiences of religious seminaries from the original heritage in education, especially since modern education has reached some methods that the seminaries were applying hundreds of years ago.
The events included a film showcasing the achievements from the recommendations of the second conference, along with a discussion session between the university's board of directors and its staff, which addressed the evaluation of the administrative process at the university, proposed suggestions and obstacles, and finding solutions through direct dialog.
Al-Ameed University is keen on following up on the outcomes of its annual conference and transforming its recommendations and proposals into practical steps that contribute to the development of its academic and administrative journey.
