With the participation of more than 1000 students... The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine launches the closing ceremony of the Al-Kafeel Scouts Association programs

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine launched the closing ceremony of the Al-Kafeel Scouts Association programs for the year 2026, with the participation of more than 1,000 students from the provinces of Karbala and Basra.

The ceremony is organized by the Al-Kafeel Scouts Association, affiliated with the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department of the Holy Shrine, under the slogan "Generations Following the Prophets," and it will last for two days.

The events were attended by several members of the Board of Directors of the holy shrine and its officials, along with official delegations from the Ministries of Higher Education, Education, Youth and Sports, as well as several general directors and department heads concerned with scouting, sports, and youth work from various provinces, in addition to a number of scouting leaders and institutions.

The head of the Activities and Camps Division in the department, Dr. Zaman Al-Kanani, said, "Today, the closing ceremony of the Al-Kafeel Scouts Association programs commenced from the courtyard of the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), with the participation of more than a thousand scout members from the provinces of Karbala and Basra."

He added that "the opening activities included the performance of the scout promise, the Ziyarat of the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them), the hymn of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance), in addition to various artistic activities and religious hymns."

Al-Kanani continued, "The evening session of the first day of the ceremony will be held at the Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) complex, and it will include a variety of segments, such as a welcoming speech for the students, creative and artistic performances, plays, and a showcase of talents and skills in programming and Quranic contemplation, with the presence of students' parents, school principals, teachers, and those interested in youth development and scouting."

He explained that "the second day of the celebration will include a scouting parade with the participation of all students at the Youth Sports Stadium, along with the performance of the national anthem and several theatrical shows inside the stadium, concluding with the honoring of the participants and contributors to the program's activities."

The participants in the events recited the scout promise delivered by scout leader Abdul Karim Hanoun, which included: "I pledge on my honor to do my duty toward God and my country, to help people in all circumstances and conditions, and to abide by the scout law."

The Al-Kafeel Scout Choir presented a Mahdawi anthem as part of the events, showcasing the virtues of Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance), his esteemed position in the hearts of the believers, and what the concept of waiting embodies in terms of longing, hope, and anticipation for his blessed appearance.

The closing ceremony of the Al-Kafeel Scouts Association programs comes within the framework of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine's interest in youth energies and its keenness to develop students' skills and enhance their abilities and talents, instilling educational and moral values, as well as the spirit of cooperation, teamwork, and belonging in them, contributing to the building of an aware generation capable of bearing responsibility and serving the community, through various scouting and educational programs.
