In the name of Allah: it doesn’t mean the monk as in the Christianity. Christian monkhood has no marriage, while Imam Al-Kadhim (PBUH) has more than twenty sons. What is meant is the most religious one who fears and worships Allah a lot in secret or in public, in prison or in freedom. There is no well authenticated narration that proves that the Imam (PBUH) was called a monk. Allah is the All-guide and knowing.
