Is there something in the Latm (beating the chest) which can belittle the dignity of Islam or the identity of Shias?
Answer
In the name of Allah, I do not see any of what you have mentioned. On the contrary, the strong opposition of the enemies of Hussein (PBUH) and Ahlulbait (PBUH) to this act indicates its importance in spreading the Shia doctrine and attracting the people towards to Ahlulbait’s (PBUH) loyalty which is the salvation ship. Don’t you see that the human nature is to be happy when seeing an enemy sad or crying and vice versa. In Hussein’s (PBUH) issue, the exact opposite happens. The Shia people cry and the Sunni is not like that and the Shia beat their chests and the enemies do not stand that. All that is evidence that the tragedy of Al-Taf is like a spear in the enemies’ chest and it makes their blood boil. This is what they inherited from their ancestors, Banu Omayyad and Banu Al-Abbas, who tried their best to remove Ahlulbait’s (PBUH) sect. Allah is the all Guide.
