Is it permissible to dispose of Quranic verses and the names of Allah, the Exalted, after altering their appearance, such as crossing them out or changing them so their meaning is no longer recognizable when read?

In the name of Allah they must be erased before being disposed of or buried to avoid committing an offense against Islamic sanctities. Allah knows best.
