If a cloth or mat, which is difficult to wring, is placed in a basin or tub and a large amount of water covers it, then the water is squeezed out by hand or foot, and the mat is hung to drain without being wrung out, is this sufficient, or must it first be wrung out before being hung?
Answer
In the name of Allah, the mat should be placed after being dipped in water on the edge of the basin and wrung out by hand, or by using a piece of wood placed on the mat to press it, or on clean ground. The amount of water that can be squeezed out is sufficient for purification. Allah is the Guide and the All-Knowing.
