What is the ruling on shaving the beard with a razor? And what is considered valid for the beard in terms of the sideburns and chin, and in terms of length and shortness? Some people limit it to the chin only, while others shorten it as if completely shaved with a razor, and in contrast, some let it grow beyond a fist’s length?
Answer
In the name of Allah, it is forbidden to shave the beard with a razor or any similar tool. The beard’s hair should be long enough to be combed. It is permissible to shave the sideburns while leaving the chin for those who are not students of religious knowledge. Allah knows best.
