Some believers of young men travel to non-Muslim countries and wish to marry women of the People of the Book in a temporary marriage without their Muslim wife's consent. The contract duration may be a day, five days, ten days, or a year. Is it permissible in all these cases, or only if the period is short? And does it matter if others become aware of it?
Answer
In the name of Allah, the wife's consent is only required if the Christian woman he intends to marry temporarily is the niece (daughter of the sister or brother) of his wife. Allah knows best.
