Ali ibn Abdullah al-Warraq - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Saโd ibn Abdullah quoted on the authority of al-Haytham ibn Abil Masrooq an-Nahdi, on the authority of Muhammad ibn al-Fuzayl, โWhen we got to a place called Batn Murr being located one way-station before Mecca. I got side and leg pains called โAl-Irq al-Madiniโ in Arabic. I went to see Ar-Ridhaโ (a.s.) in Medina and he (a.s.) asked, โWhat is the cause of your pain?โ I said, โI got โAl-Irq pains in my legs and side when I reached Batn Murr. Ar-Ridhaโ (a.s.) then pointed at what was on my side, said a few words and put some of his saliva on it and said, โYou will no longer suffer from any side pains.โ Ar-Ridhaโ (a.s.) then looked at my legs and said, โO Abu Jaโfar! The Honorable the Exalted God will record the rewards of a thousand martyrs for whomever of our followers who suffers from a calamity and perseveres.โ I told myself, โBy God, I will not be relieved of this pain in my legs until I die.โ The narrator added, โHe limped for the rest of his life.โ
