Hadith 26-7

حَدَّثَنا أَبي رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: حَدَّثَنا مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى العَطَّار وَأَحْمَدِبن إِدْرِيس جَمِيعاً، عَن‏أَحْمَدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ عِمْران الأَشْعَرِيِّ قالَ: حَدَّثَني الحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِاللَّه، عَن آدَمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّه الأَشْعَرِيِّ، عَن زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ آدَمِ، عَن أَبي الحَسَن الرِّضا عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ قالَ: سَمِعتُ‏هُ يَقُولُ الصَّلاة لَها ربعة آلافَ بابُ.

(The author of the book narrated) my father - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Attar and Ahmad ibn Idris quoted on the authority of Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya ibn Imran al-Ash’ari, on the authority of Al-Husayn ibn Abdullah, on the authority of Adam ibn Abdullah al-Ash’ari, on the authority of Zakariya ibn Adam, “I heard Abil Hassan Al-Ridha’ (a.s.) say, ‘There are forty-thousand gates to prayer.’”
