Hadith 31-3

وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ عَنْ إِبْراهيمِ بْنِ أَبي مَحْمُودٍ، قالَ: قالَ الرِّضا عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ: المُؤمِنُ: الَّذِي إِذا أَحسَنَ استَبْشَرَ وَإِذا أَساءَ اِستَغفَرَ، وَالمُسلِمُ: الَّذِي يَسلَمُ المُسلِمُونَ مِن لِسانِهِ وَيَدِهِ لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَن لَم يَأمَن جارُهُ بَوائِقَهُ.

According to the same documentation, Ibrahim ibn Abi Mahmood narrated that Ar-Ridha’ (a.s.) said, “A believer is one who rejoices over doing good deeds, and repents from doing wicked deeds. A Muslim is one from whose tongue and hands the Muslims are secure. Whomsoever whose neighbors are not secure from him, does not belong to our nation.”
