In the name of Allah, it is well-known and widely accepted that His Eminence, religious scholar Al-Najafy (may Allah prolong his life), does not permit following a deceased religious scholar as a start, nor remaining on his taqlid, even if the deceased was more knowledgeable than the living religious scholar.
