Najafi Q&A: Ruling of Defecation

In the name of Allah, my dear son, you must avoid facing the Qiblah or turning your back to it during urination and defecation. You should position yourself so that the Qiblah is to one of your sides. You are not responsible for the construction of the toilet, only for your own actions. If you are able to request the landlord to modify its direction to make it easier for you to use, then do so. Allah knows best.

In the name of Allah, the Istibraa is required. If man or woman does not do it and a wet substance comes out whether a urine or not then his ablution becomes invalid. Allah knows best.

In the name of Allah, it is recommended to do Istibraa. Istibraa means to make sure that there is no remaining urine in the urethra. The way of Istibraa is: to wipe with some pressure the area from the rectum to the penis which helps pushing the possibly urine remaining to the penis. Then, you put the penis between the thumb above it and another finger under it and then pulling it three times from the bottom to the head of the penis and finally you shake it three times. Regarding women, they do Istibraa by pushing what remains in her vagina out. The one who doubts has to do the Istibraa rules. Allah knows best.

In the name of Allah, if this talisman is covered in such a way that the najis liquid cannot enter, or the inside of the talisman does not touch her body (when in menstruation), it is permissible to carry it. Nevertheless, it is disliked to carry it in the days of menstruation, puerperium- lochia- or irregular menses. Allah knows best.
