In ghusl of janabah, is it obligatory to wash the hair? Sometimes, there is something attached along the strand of hair—must it be removed? If its removal is difficult, should one perform tayammum instead?

In the name of Allah, it is obligatory to wash the hair and remove any barrier on it. If removal is not possible, then the hair itself must be removed. If that too is not possible, one must perform tayammum. Allah knows best.
